In this project, the artistic team chose to apply basic sustainabiltiy to traditional dining style utilizing the classic "Farmers Table". The design of the table and chairs is based on the technique of "Himitsu-Bako", a traditional art of the personal secret box, a hand-made piece of art that requires the moving of hidden keys to access the interior. Developed in the Hakone region of Japan, this long-practiced art has been adapted to the environment for the Dinner in the Deuce exhibition. Added to this building technique is the integration of the service ware, dinnerware, storage, and lighting into the table structure itself.
